Parent Responsibilities

Since the swim team is run solely on a volunteer basis, except for the coaching positions, it is essential that all parents of swim team members contribute in various team activities.  The major fundraiser of the year is the Waterbug Invitational held the second Saturday in December.  During this event you will be asked to volunteer your time and talents possibly as a timer, concession stand worker, card runner in the pool, announcer, or a runner to bring the swimmers to the pool area.  We also ask for food donations for the concession stand.  These donations might include fruit, brownies, rice krispie treats, etc.

Parent volunteers are also needed at home meets and away invitational meets.  Helpers are needed at home meets to help set up before the meet and tear down after the meet.  The home team host home meets.  Parents will be needed as timers, runners, assisting in the bullpen, and various other jobs.  At away invitational meets our team is responsible for timing one land of the pool the duration of the meet.  These tasks are easily accomplished if all parents are willing to chip in and do their part.

The success of the swim team relies heavily on parent support and involvement.  The advisory board welcomes any suggestions or comments that might improve any aspect of the swim team.
